Top spot for Shropshire trophy firm

Two of Shropshire's top names in providing professional trophies, personalised gifts and business awards, have merged in a winning move by county businessman Bill Cooper.

Professional Engraving and Trophies, part of the Air Systems Group, has now taken over Manx Trophies, whose owner has retired. But both firms will continue to trade under their own well known names.

Announcing the move, Mr Cooper said he would be opening a new showroom at Unit 2, Stafford Park 12, Telford.

The new 4,000sq ft facility – which will double their existing business space – means that the company can provide not only trophies and personalised gifts but also sports kits for football, rugby and other sports teams.

“Despite the recession our business has recorded excellent growth. We have taken on five new members of staff and will be doubling our existing workspace with the new showroom which is a short walk from our head office on Stafford Park 12. It really has been phenomenal growth for us,” said Bill, whose daughter Emma and son Joe both work in the family firm.

General manager Keith Trubshaw added that customers could visit the showroom as well as soon being able to order on-line and that the growth meant that the firm could now offer quality sports clothing.

“We have thoroughly investigated the sportswear market and signed deals with two top European suppliers for first class sports kits which will ensure top quality at an inexpensive price.”

The company provides trophies, medals, shields, sports cups, and pewter tankards with craftsmen on site to engrave glass, brass, stainless steel name plates, plaques and safety signs. They also personalise mugs, mouse mats and clothing, provide banners and signs for industry and repair and restore existing trophies.

They are part of the Air Systems Group which includes Air System Controls and Lewis & Mason Plastics providing parts for industry.
