Shropshire accountant launches website with top ten tax saving tips

Louise Hudson, who worked in high street accountancy for 15 years before setting up her own business in Ellesmere, earlier this year, said she wanted to dispel myths so people stopped “burying their heads in the sand” over matters which were simple to resolve.

Mrs Hudson, who runs her business Hudson Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor from the family farm in Whittington, said she hoped her ‘top ten tax tips’ on her new website would help people with basic accounting.

“All too often people who are running businesses of all sizes from sole traders to large employers try and hide away from the accounts.

“I hear people say they were ‘too scared’ to ring the accountant, yet they would pick up the phone to anyone else and ask advice,” the 31-year-old said.

“I want to reduce that fear and change the perception of accountants and make people realise accountants can take so much stress out of their situation and make it clear so they can see light at the end of the tunnel – which for some would be the first time in a very long time.”

Mrs Hudson, who became a partner in a large county chartered accountants at the age of 28, said she hoped her top ten tax tips would help people save cash.

“Business owners in an economic climate like we are today need to save every penny they can and as accountants we know how to do that but they can also learn how to do it themselves.

“People need to conduct regular reviews in order to reduce their taxable profits, realise the benefits of planning ahead and ensuring their business structure is the most tax efficient it can be,” she added.
