The County Sleep Shop launches new website

Family owned and run ‘The County Sleep Shop’ on Shrewsbury’s Wyle Cop has just launched their new website, bringing the longest established bed and nursery retailer in Shropshire online in time for Christmas.

The County Sleep Shop launches new website

The County Sleep Shop has come a long way since the summer of 1956, when after many years of experience working in the furniture industry, local man Barrie Sheffield realised his life-long ambition and opened his own business selling beds, mattresses and pillows. The County Sleep Shop was born and still remains at its original site on the corner of Wyle Cop and Town Walls in the centre of Shrewsbury.

Today the business today is run by Barrie Sheffield’s two sons, Clive and Scott and their wives Karen and Janet, culminating in nearly 100 years of experience between them - a truly family business.

Janet said, “Selling cots and cot mattresses has naturally evolved into retailing nursery furniture, children’s toys, prams and many more unique items. 2006 saw the business celebrate its 50th anniversary and the commitment to build upon what has been achieved over the last 6 decades is as great as ever.”

“The new website www.countysleepshop.co.uk allows us to show our full range of stock, including our children’s toys which are extremely popular all year round and especially now as people buy their Christmas gifts and stocking fillers.

The County Sleep Shop retails some of the best known names in the business, including Mamas and Papas, Silver Cross, iCandy and Maxi-Cosi. The shop floor has many nursery essentials, gifts and toys for people to see when they call in, but we are naturally limited on space. Our new website allows us to expand our shop window and reach more people; encouraging them to visit Shrewsbury and call into the shop when they’re here, or buy directly online. Customer service is very important to us and we want to continue to make shopping at The County Sleep Shop a really enjoyable experience; however they choose to do it. I am really pleased with how easy the website is to use and update.”

The County Sleep Shop’s new website has been designed and developed by local website company Marketing Shropshire, who are based just around the corner from Wyle Cop in St Julian’s Friars, Shrewsbury.

Kay Corbett from Marketing Shropshire said “It was a pleasure to work with Janet and the family at County Sleep Shop to design and build their new website. We are finding that e-commerce websites are increasingly popular as businesses realise the benefits of online trading.”
