Aspiring young entrepreneurs across Shropshire are invited to attend a free event that will officially launch a new programme which aims to support people aged 18 to 30 to ‘make their own jobs’.

Shropshire event to be ‘first of its kind’ for youngsters

As part of the Young Britain initiative, a special ‘Start Up Day’ will be held at the Telford Enterprise Hub this Friday 30th November from 10am until 3pm, to offer ‘could be’ entrepreneurs the advice and guidance they need to launch their own business whilst ensuring that they can make it a success.

The free-to-attend event is open to all 18-30 year olds in the county who are interested in running their own business, and will give them the chance to access one-to-one mentoring throughout the day, as well as networking opportunities and a series of business workshops.

Fay Easton, Shropshire’s StartUp Britain Local Champion and Co-Founder of Young Britain, explained:
“This promises to be a fantastic day, and will see some of the county’s most talented youngsters get the much-needed opportunity to learn about how we can guide them, and also how they can access the vital funds to launch a business, including the low interest StartUp Loans that are on offer.

“Attendees will also be able to find out about our exciting new WOW! Business in a Box concept, which gives young people all the necessary products, advice, training and ongoing support to subsequently launch, and make a success of, their own valeting and cleaning business.

“Self-employment is a viable alternative to the traditional jobs market and provides young people with a profitable and productive opportunity to avoid catastrophic unemployment. We can help young people realise their earning potential by launching a business or becoming a self-employed freelancer or contractor by ‘making their own job’.

“The main ingredients for success in the world of ‘start-ups’ is the energy and passion combined, and that’s what we’re trying to provide. The event is completely free to attend but spaces are strictly limited, so if you are interested in securing event, or know someone that would be interested, please visit http://ow.ly/ftsqa to book a place or get in touch with the Young Britain team on 01952 677230 for further information,” Fay concluded.
