Coverage Care staff celebrate a combined 130 years service

Chief executive of the not-for profit company, David Coull, presented the care assistants with Long Service Awards at a special presentation afternoon in Telford.

Celebrating 15 years service were carers Julie Morris, Kath Thacker, Mary Huntbatch and Suzanne Bourne, all staff from Woodcroft care home in Market Drayton, as well as Irene Williams from Coton Hill House in Shrewsbury and Ann Lewis from Fairholme in Oswestry.

Also receiving an award during the event held at Lightmoor View care home was Fairholme's Liz Dorricott, who has completed 25 years of service at Coverage Care.

She said: “It's been an absolute pleasure working for Coverage Care all these years. It's been a pleasure to have worked alongside our great team of staff and our residents everyday. I've had a fantastic 25 years, and this afternoon was a great opportunity to celebrate everyone's achievements, not just mine.”

The presentation afternoon also saw certificates awarded to 13 staff members who had completed vocational qualifications.

Mr Coull said: “It was a day of celebration for all at Coverage Care. What a delight to be able to hand out certificates and awards to staff who have dedicated themselves to working hard meeting needs of those for whom we provide care, both at home and in our homes across the county. Being a carer is not an easy job, but these long service awards show it is a worthy and rewarding one.”

Coverage Care is Shropshire's largest independent care provider, operating 16 care homes across the county as well as a domiciliary care service from a base in Telford.
