Windscreen winter safety warning from Shropshire's experts
Motorists should get their damaged windscreens repaired to prevent having their cars off the road for a longer period as freezing temperatures set in.

John Smallman, director of National Windscreens on Halesfield in Telford and company branches in Oswestry and Wolverhampton, said people often left a chip in their windscreen until it fully cracked resulting in the vehicle being taken off the road for several hours.
But instead people could reduce the time lost out of their working day or interruption to their journey by getting it fixed in minutes at their home and office.
“Chip repairs are easily fixed in just a very short space of time without you having to take a day off work or without taking your car off the road.
“A chip can go at any time so it is just a matter of time – whether that be during the defrost on a cold morning or as you travel along the motorway which obviously poses even more hazards,” Mr Smallman said.
“We have a chip repair specialist based at our head office on Halesfield but also have engineers in Oswestry and Wolverhampton who are especially busy with chip repairs at this time of year.
“In the interests of safety and to prevent loss of business by having your car off the road for longer than it needs to be, I’d urge people to make it a number one priority before Christmas.”
