A well-known Shrewsbury shop is bucking the trend by expanding. Award-winning boutique Wysteria Lane in Dogpole has opened a new menswear section.

Wysteria Lane expands in Shrewsbury

The store now stocks a range of suits, casual wear, accessories and gifts which are already proving popular.

Michelle Jamie, who runs Wysteria Lane in Dogpole and its sister shop in Grope Lane, said that despite some traders finding conditions tough she was determined to develop her business.

“Shrewsbury has a wonderful selection of retailers with a few independent menswear shops in the town so we are aiming to add to the selection with our new ranges. So far the response from the men folk in the town has been fantastic and we are going from strength to strength,” she commented.

“Trade generally is good in all of our shops - we pride ourselves on providing really first class customer service which makes a huge difference in this market,” Michelle added.

She said that this year her two Wysteria Lane stores had also celebrated a decade in business in the town and that she had secured a further two year lease for her Birmingham shop in the Pavilions in the city centre.

Shrewsbury sports coach Jamie Haynes, who works for Crossbar Coaching, was one of the first customers in the new menswear section.

“I’m really impressed by the clothes – it’s great to have more choice in Shrewsbury,” he commented.
