Husband and wife team revamp business
A husband and wife team who already run a successful stall at Shrewsbury Market Hall have launched a new venture - and their second business - at the award-winning shopping venue.
Gareth Howell, who has run Atlas rugs for five years, has now launched Meadow Blue with wife Claire selling a range of up-cycled, painted furniture.
Each item is unique and can take between six to eight hours to revamp.
Meadow Blue offers a range of restored furniture that is hand-painted by Claire and then waxed to protect paintwork for a new lease of life.
The business has got off to a successful start with new shop, Shoe-B-Do, among the first customers to purchase dressers to display their children’s shoes at its shop in Frankwell.
Customers can purchase items directly from the stall in the Market Hall, or specific pieces can be sourced and up-cycled to order.
Meadow Blue is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9am until 3.45pm.
