Moving memorial offer marks first anniversary

Twelve months on since its official launch, a touching memorial business is proving to be a valued source of support for bereaved families across Shropshire.

Moving memorial offer marks first anniversary

Magnolia Memorials was introduced last year by Shrewsbury, Welshpool, and Four Crosses-based Aubrey Kirkham Funeral Directors as an additional way of providing superior standards of care to the local community.

Run by Leanne Garvey, one of the very few fully-qualified lady funeral directors in Shropshire and daughter of company Founder and Director, Aubrey Kirkham, the business was set up to offer a bespoke collection of high-quality, yet affordable headstones, vases and urns, complete with personally-crafted carvings and inscriptions.

“When a family suffers a loss, not only do they have to cope with the trauma, but they also have to make numerous arrangements such as organising the funeral service, burial or cremation,” Leanne Garvey explained. “By providing access to our range of beautiful, but tasteful, headstones, vases and urns, it can reduce the stress of them having to source a suitable memorial separately.”

Now celebrating its first birthday, the business is proving itself to be a popular addition, with a large number of memorials already completed and other orders currently being processed. One recent project undertaken by the team has seen the full restoration of famous TV gardener Percy Thrower’s memorial stone which is sited at his burial place in Leaton, near Bomere Heath.

Magnolia Memorials offers families complete support, from initial design and production, through to installation, cleaning and maintenance.
