Organisers of Telford's oldest networking club are aiming for its most successful year in its 25-year history as they launch a new 'tour' of the town for 2013.

Telford Business Club goes "on tour" for 2013

The Telford Business Club committee is hoping that the 'tour of Telford' will help to attract a record number of members.

It sees members meeting once a month at a different business to listen to a guest key speaker, as well as to network and enjoy a hot meal.

The idea of the new initiative is to give business owners a flavour of the companies in each area and to attract new members from across the borough.

Alasdair Hobbs, the business club's vice-chairman, said: "Telford Business Club is all about giving business owners the chance to meet up to share advice and knowledge and of course pass business to each other.

"Networking has gone through the roof in Shropshire and firms now realise the massive benefits they get from connecting with and building relationships with other businesses, especially during difficult trading times.

"Swapping ideas of how to do things with other business owners can also have a positive impact on profits."

The meetings, which all start at 6pm, kick off on January 8 at The Tin House, Wellington with speaker Sarah-Jane Smith, editor and publisher of Shropshire Business Today followed by The Dhaka in Wellington and speaker Heather Noble, of Salt Solutions on February 12 and Hadley Park House in Hadley on March 12 with speaker Claire Dowdall, of Cloud 10 Marketing.

Mr Hobbs said: "We are a really friendly club and meetings have a relaxed atmosphere which helps to build lasting relationships between businesses.

"Joining is really simple and instead of monthly fees there is just one annual payment of £150. There are a number of benefits to being a member of the club, including the chance to list your products and services on the club's website along with a link to your own website."
