Plans for hospital contract expansion for Telford fire and safety experts
A leading Shropshire fire safety company today said he hoped a £40,000 NHS contract and a “phenomenal” past year could help him secure more NHS contracts across the UK.

The team at Shires Fire & Safety in Telford is looking forward to exciting times ahead as it aims to build on the “overwhelming success” of 2012.
Mr Mould said his company had had an unprecedented year which had seen him scoop two contracts worth up to £40,000 to provide, service and maintain fire extinguishers at two West Midlands NHS hospitals.
He said he hoped this would lead to many more contracts within the NHS which he was so proud to represent.
Barry Mould, company director, said: “Following the two initial hospital contracts we have received enquiries from across the UK.
“These are now going through the processes but hospital bosses know the safety of their patients is paramount and this should never be put at risk.
“Our team excel with their accuracy and standard along with their safety training – I am so proud of what my team has achieved in the last 12 months.
“We really do hope to secure a high number of contracts with the NHS during 2013.”
Mr Mould, whose company is based at Stafford Park, added: “We did not expect to secure the two hospital contracts as we initially opted out of tendering for them as we could not provide the cheapest price.
“Companies tend to go for the lowest price in such a tendering process rather than considering the quality of the service they are being offered.
“But sadly reviewing fire safety procedures and equipment after an incident could be too late.
“Fire safety is one area nobody should compromise on.”
Mr Mould, who launched the business in 1990, added: “I am delighted that the future is looking good for the company.
“With our new business development manager in place, business really has gone through the roof.”
Shires Fire & Safety on Stafford Park 17 is approved by a number of industry bodies including BAFE and provides fire protection and emergency systems, along with fire prevention and security advice.
