A Shropshire PR agency is celebrating its own success after welcoming two new members of staff, rounding off another year of ongoing growth.

Shropshire PR agency Zen Communications welcomes new additions

Shrewsbury-based Zen Communications has recruited two new team members after a string of recent contract wins to its retained client portfolio, making it one of the largest dedicated PR agencies in the region.

The firm has welcomed 18-year old former Shrewsbury Sixth Form College student Jennie Windle, as an Apprentice PR Administrator, and Hannah Noakes, a Sociology and Social Policy graduate from the University of Liverpool, as a Junior Account Executive. Jennie is currently working towards her NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration through Shropshire Council’s County Training Scheme, while Hannah will be supporting the core team in implementing clients’ communications strategies and undertaking a range of media-related activities.

Felicity Wingrove, Founder and Director of Zen Communications, said: “As an agency, we are so proud of our achievements this year and we really have continued to go from strength-to-strength. Recent successes have enabled us to grow our team and give two talented and enthusiastic young women the opportunity to begin a career within the PR industry. Hannah and Jennie have already made a hugely positive impact to our team, and we very much look forward to nurturing their skills in the months and years to come.”

Jennie explained: “I chose to apply for the role as I was really keen to pursue a career in PR, but didn’t want the burden of years of university debt. An Apprenticeship is a great way to gain on-the-job training as well as invaluable PR experience, and secure a relevant diploma at the end of the scheme.”

Hannah added: “I am delighted to have secured a position within such a flourishing agency, especially during a time when so many graduates are struggling to find a job, let alone in their chosen career field. The team has been fantastic, giving me the chance to work with a really diverse range of clients, and I look forward to progressing my career with the company.”

Zen Communications is a results-driven strategic public relations and copywriting agency. Shropshire-based, but working with clients across the UK and internationally, it is home to a team of technically-trained writers with a proven track record of producing strong, distinctive, and creative copy. With clients spanning a variety of sectors - from construction and property, to professional services, healthcare, and food and drink – the agency works with businesses of all sizes, from sole traders and start-up firms, right the way through to well-established enterprises and FTSE100 companies.
