Severnside Housing purchases Shrewsbury-based electrical firm
Severnside Housing has announced the purchase of Shrewsbury-based electrical firm A Walters Electrical Contractors Ltd.

Chief executive Sarah Boden, who has been at the organisation’s helm since 2006, said: “The purchase enables us to generate income to fund our extensive development programme. The expected value of savings and profit generated from the acquisition of the electrical contractor is approximately £1.87m over the first five years.
“There are wider benefits beyond the financials though, as we can offer job security and training to the 20 employees, bring in skilled tradesmen who have worked in our housing stock for more than 11 years and develop a new apprenticeship programme to support local young people.”
Severnside Housing has an existing direct labour organisation of 78 staff, delivering repairs service and home improvements including new kitchens, bathrooms and central heating. A Walters Ltd has delivered electrical planned and responsive works to the housing provider since transfer in October 2001.
