Shropshire Jelly changes hands without a wobble

Jelly is a global co-working phenomenon for freelancers and home based workers that has found fertile ground in Shropshire. It is a free monthly event - attendees just bring a laptop and whatever work they need that day. The Jelly format gives a regular opportunity to enjoy some of the camaraderie, idea sharing and problem solving that their office based counterparts take for granted - no sales pitching allowed. All this and a good dose of productivity is what has made Jelly such an enduring success.

After 3 years of Jelly brilliance, founding organiser Jan Minihane, feels that the time has come for a fresh face at the helm. Jan and Fran have worked, chatted and collaborated over Jelly for the last 12 months and Jan knows she has found her successor. As Jan says,” Fran is someone who really gets the idea of Jelly co-working and I know she will guide Shropshire Jelly to continued success”. Jan’s new focus for the new year is to take her successful Social Media advisory business, The Net Advantage, to the next level!

Fran fell in love with the Jelly concept quickly finding it a necessary addition to her home-based business life. Fran says “I’m so excited about the future of Shropshire Jelly, it’s an amazing resource for small businesses and I can’t wait to carry on where Jan left off”. Fran’s zest for helping people get more out of every day in her home-based personal assistant business, Tick It Off, will come in very handy.

There are currently six locations around Shropshire that hold a Jelly on a monthly basis. Fran will run Telford and will be the central link between the others in Bridgnorth, North Shropshire (Nr.Wem), Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Whitchurch. Although there are many regulars who have seen the benefits of this co-working model, newcomers are always welcome and quickly feel at home.
