A leading recycling firm has gone from strength-to-strength following huge successes and contract wins, which has seen the recent appointment of a new member of staff.

Telford-based Pink Recycling and Waste has taken on Richard Downey as its new Sales Manager, a role which will see him guide both new and existing customers through the entire sales process from initial enquiries and proposals, to managing the sales team and ensuring successful project completions.

A fully-qualified rescue diver and a dedicated Aston Villa supporter, Richard has joined the company with many years’ experience in similar roles within the recycling and waste industry, working with clients across a variety of sectors including local authorities, finance, and major food and drinks manufacturers.

The appointment has come hot on the heels of a particularly successful period of growth for Pink Recycling and Waste, which specialises in total waste management and recycling, land demolition and private skip hire. The past 12 months has seen the firm secure a number of prestigious local contract wins, including the handling of complex waste management requirements for the RAF Cosford Airshow, to which they performed at such a high level they were asked to look after the Queen’s Jubilee visit to the site. In addition, the company won the contract to service the Shrewsbury Flower Show at its 125th anniversary event earlier this summer.

Alistair Stewart, Head of Sales and Marketing at Pink Recycling and Waste, explained: “Richard’s appointment has come at a time of fantastic growth for the business, and he has already become a hugely valued asset of our team. He shows complete commitment in building strong relationships with every one of our clients and in ensuring 100% client satisfaction first-time, every time. He brings a great deal of expertise in the waste and recycling sector, as well as in general management to his role, and he will play an essential part as we continue our growth in the months and years to come.”

“The team at Pink Recycling and Waste has been incredibly welcoming and I’m settling in brilliantly,” Richard Downey, said. “The company has a well-established reputation within the industry and works with some renowned brands across an extremely diverse range of sectors, and I am very much looking forward to working with these customers, as well as new clients across the region over the coming months.”
