Shrewsbury care company undergoes re-structure
A Shropshire care company has undergone a major restructure in a bid to expand the portfolio of residential properties available for young adults with learning disabilities across the region.

Bosses at Shrewsbury-based Adelphi Care Services today said 2013 would be an important year for the business as it builds on its success in providing high quality specialised services.
Joe Kwaterski, business development director at Adelphi, said: "This is going to be a very exciting year for us at Adelphi and for young adults with learning difficulties in Shropshire and Mid Wales. We are extending our portfolio of properties as part of our ambitious proposals to take the business forward.
"We will also be expanding the region we cover by opening our first property in Stoke. There are also other huge plans in the pipeline for the company, which we hope to be able to reveal soon."
The company currently employs 135 staff and has taken on a number of new employees, including an assistant psychologist, which is a vital but very rare asset for a care company.
They will be building on the success of scooping the British Safety Council’s Sword of Honour award at the end of last year, alongside firms such as Aston Martin.
Mr Kwaterski said: "We pride ourselves on the excellent services we provide for adults with Autism, Asperger's and learning difficulties. What is vital for Adelphi is how we treat our clients and meet their needs.
"Every one of our clients is treated as an individual and we aim to help them to achieve their potential in a safe environment. We strive to maintain the highest standards and to be the best in the business."
Bosses also want to build on the success of a £500,000 respite centre for adults with autism, which was the first in Shropshire and opened last year(2012).
The Autism-Specific Respite Centre, Barra House on Aston Road in Wem enables people diagnosed with autism to enjoy a rest whilst also giving their carers and families the chance to enjoy a break.
It is a pilot autism-specific service which will be used to gain Autism Accreditation through the National Autistic Society over a three year period.
There are also plans to offer independent living in studio flats for young adults.
