Shropshire based exhibition and events specialist Green Arena have taken up the 'green' challenge to provide design and build of innovative exhibition stands, event displays and eco graphics & signage for local companies with an environmental conscience.

50 Shades of Green for Shropshire exhibition and events specialist

Founded 5 years ago, Green Arena clients include MINI and British Gas as well as independent and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). With clients and exhibitions nationwide, the team has also expanded and now employs a new Head of Production, Installations Manager and Marketing Manager. The have has also recently moved to a new workshop and offices in Leaton near Shrewsbury to service growing orders.

With a wealth of experience across the sectors Green Arena is focussing on bringing its innovative products to a wider local SME audience. With this in mind, they launched their '50 Shades of Green' initiative at the recent Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Business Expo at Furrows in Telford.

"Being 'Green' is often one of those box ticking exercises that is greeted with rolling eyes and a heavy sigh" says Jane Shepherd, Marketing Manager, "Most of us know it’s something we should do but don't quite get around to it - our view is that you can fuse show-stopping design and innovative materials with cost effective, stylish products that are also eco-friendly."

The company has spiced up its environmental checklist to help fellow SMEs save money in their business, with 50 green initiatives taken from its products, services and company ethos.

"The exhibition industry is notoriously wasteful with many consumables, such as foam panels, carpets and graphics ending up landfill, sometimes taking100's of years to bio-degrade" added Richard Lawley, founder of Green Arena."Wherever possible we use only eco-solvent inks, bio-vinyl for banners, eco-card for graphics and recyclable carpets in our design of exhibition stands and launch events. Eco-walling, a new product made from recycled cardboard, is hugely popular for temporary room construction as it's light yet sturdy and totally recyclable, with terrific acoustic properties."

Recently joining the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, Green Arena wants to raise awareness of green event alternatives to local business. “There are many small businesses that aren’t aware of the options available; or if they are, assume they are cost prohibitive,” commented Head of Client Services, Jayney Turner, “Like bamboo banner stands, the latest model we offer is 98% bamboo - the world’s quickest growing tree. We supply them with eco-friendly bio banner graphics, printed with eco-solvent inks. Or pavement signs made from recycled tyres and we have even made desk tops from recycled yogurt pots.”

To celebrate their re-brand, the company is offering a Shropshire small business the opportunity to win an eco banner stand complete with ‘green’ graphics. Just email your name and number to hello@thegreenarena.co.uk
