Shrewsbury solicitors raise £935 for Will Aid charity

A Shrewsbury solicitors firm has raised almost £1,000 for some of Britain’s leading charities by donating free legal expertise to the national Will Aid campaign.

Shrewsbury solicitors raise £935 for Will Aid charity

Face2face Solicitors Shrewsbury waived their usual fees and gave clients the opportunity to have a basic Will written or updated in exchange for making a donation to Will Aid.

The company raised £935 during the month-long campaign, held in November, aimed at encouraging as many people as possible to make a Will.

Will Aid, the UK’s leading charity will-writing scheme, raises funds for ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, the NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).

“We would like to thank our clients for taking part and helping to make our participation in the campaign a success,” said John Burrowes, managing director of face2face solicitors Shrewsbury.

“Making a Will is one of the most important things that people can do to protect the future of their loved ones and yet fewer than half the adult population has one. If someone dies without a Will it can take years to sort out their estate, causing a great deal of distress to their families.”

A Will Aid spokesman said: “We are proud that Face2face Solictors were involved. The money they raised will be added to our nationwide total, currently standing at £1.5 million. This will be put to work to make a real and lasting difference to children, families and older people in the UK and around the world.”
