Ready to go business packs launched for young entrepreneurs
A local campaign to champion self-employment across Shropshire has launched an initiative that will give ‘could be’ entrepreneurs a chance to explore the range of ‘buy-in’ business opportunities that are now on offer.

Young Britain, a non-profit organisation that encourages the under 30s to ‘make their own job’ by starting their own business, has launched ‘Business in a Box’, an initiative that aims to steer young people away from unemployment by providing them with a collection of everything they need to effectively become their own boss.
The brand new initiative gives youngsters a ready to use and fully supported start-up business across a wide range of industries, including car valeting, cleaning, health, beauty and food, as well as the opportunity to receive the training to obtain a license to be able to teach yoga and dance classes.
In addition to the support and training, the scheme gives entrepreneurs an opportunity to receive a Start Up Loan to finance their new venture, with repayment rates for the ‘Business in a Box’ from around £36.50 per month.
Fay Easton, Co-Founder of Young Britain and a Start Up Britain Local Champion, explained: “With recent findings showing that 5% of young people have a burning idea to create their own business, and the remaining 95% who just need an initial idea, it’s crucial that they explore the opportunities of ‘Business in a Box’ so that they can try their hand at self-employment. Once they try this self-motivated and fulfilling way of earning, they will never look back, and I guarantee they will go on to bigger and brighter ventures of their own making.”
Youngsters will receive comprehensive customer service and sales training, and an easy-to-understand business plan which outlines how, with the time investment of 40 hours a week, participants could soon be rewarded with initial annual profits of up to £15,000.
‘Business in a Box’ is based on access to the Start Up Loans scheme for finance. The pilot phase of the Start Up Loans scheme is due to run until the end of next month [March], with a total of £10 million available across England. From thereon, funding pots totalling £42.5 million and £60 million will be on offer in 2013-14 and 2014-15 respectively.
“This pilot phase has been all about proving that the Start Up Loans funding needs to continue, so we’d urge any young entrepreneur interested in setting up their own business through our new ‘Business in a Box’ programme to get in touch as soon as possible by emailing iain@youngbritain.com or calling 01952 677230,” Fay concluded.
