A Shropshire solicitor is to host a free seminar in March to help businesses in the county keep up to date with rapidly changing employment law – and show them how to avoid costly tribunals.

Paul Bennett, founder of Shrewsbury-based Bennett’s Legal, said some key changes are to be announced in April and it was vital for firms to be kept informed to avoid any potential pitfalls.

He added that company bosses also needed to check they were fully aware of their current obligations and how any legislation could impact on their business.

The seminar, titled Employment Law – What You Need to Know, will be held on Monday, March 25, at Shrewsbury Football Club from 9.15am.

“Employment legislation is going through a significant transition with a number of crucial new measures to be introduced from April so it is particularly important for firms to get all the information available to them as soon as possible,” said Mr Bennett.

“To be informed fully is to avoid being vulnerable to costly legal proceedings because you may have overlooked updating practices or policies to be in line with current legislation. We felt it was appropriate to host such a seminar at this time to help employers get ready for the changes to come and to allow them to check what other steps they can take to keep their business running more smoothly when it comes to staff. ”

The morning seminar will be particularly aimed at HR managers who are dealing with staff on a daily basis and SME owners who have responsibility for their workforce.

The event will cover a business owner’s responsibilities, employment law updates, how to avoid an employment tribunal and employment legislation and its impact on a business.

For further information or to book a place on the seminar contact Emily Price at Bennett’s Legal on 0844 472 2378 or email ep@bennettslegal.co.uk
