Telford nursery scoops fourth 'Outstanding' Ofsted six months after opening
A Telford nursery chain is celebrating after gaining top marks in its Ofsted inspection for its newest nursery just six months after opening.

The Outstanding accolade for ABC Day Nursery in Lightmoor, which opened at the end of last year, means all four of ABC Day Nursery’s facilities in the county have been rated the top standard by Ofsted inspectors.
Staff, who were praised for their “inspirational” work, said they were delighted that Ofsted had rated the nursery so highly.
“We are so proud and thrilled to receive outstanding in all areas at Lightmoor so soon,” said Penny Hustwick, director of ABC Day Nursery, which also has nurseries in Wrockwardine, Hollinswood and Hadley.
“I opened my first nursery 20 years ago and I still love my job as much as I first did. To receive this acknowledgement so soon for our newest nursery is such an achievement.
“It is all down to our wonderful staff. We just want to provide a welcoming and nurturing place for children to come and we believe that care and education are equally important in the experience we give our children.
“Staff work closely with parents to make sure we create the safest and warmest environment for their children,” Mrs Hustwick said. “We are just so pleased all our hard work has been recognised and we look forward to celebrating Lightmoor’s first year with even more successes in the near future.”
The Ofsted report praised staff for helping children form secure emotional attachments and providing a strong base for developing independence and exploration.
“Leadership is inspirational, the owner and management team enthuse their commitment and devotion to improving the lives of children in their care,” the report said.
It added: “Staff in each base room are dedicated and experienced, striving continually to gain the most from all children. Their practice is inspirational and worthy of dissemination to other providers.”
