Small businesses across Shropshire are receiving a helping hand with their marketing at informal masterminding events throughout the county, with the next one happening in the heart of Shrewsbury next Wednesday.
The two-hour #focusonmarketing evening events are held in Shrewsbury, Telford, Newport and Oswestry and bring together businesses to learn, swap ideas and take part in discussions on the latest small business marketing thinking.
The sessions are led by Telford-based marketing mentor and trainer Claire Dowdall and have expanded across the county following great feedback from those businesses taking part.
She said: "#focusonmarketing brings together small business owners together to learn from each other, share experiences and knowledge and is a forum for supporting peers to embrace all that the wide subject of marketing has to offer to drive their business forward.
“It is informal and although I lead the group I don’t talk at people and each event has a different focus such as branding, social marketing and embracing the web.
“There’s always a great atmosphere and everyone, including myself, comes away buzzing with ideas and motivation to get out there promoting their business. And by live tweeting every event, it’s not just the people there that benefit – tips from the night are broadcast over Twitter using the #focusonmarketing hashtag, which people really like.”
The Shrewsbury #focusonmarketing session is held at The Hive Music and Media Centre on Belmont, where the group began meeting in summer 2011. The next one is on Wednesday 27th February at 7:30pm, where the topic is ‘PR Power’, and bookings can be made via Eventbrite. The cost to attend is just £10, which is payable on the door.
