Newly qualified solicitor and new trainee welcomed at Shrewsbury firm
Shropshire law firm Lanyon Bowdler has announced the arrival of two new team members, newly qualified solicitor Kate Baker and trainee solicitor, Jennifer Farmer.

Kate qualifies into the dispute resolution department, based at Lanyon Bowdler’s recently expanded offices on Abbey Lawn Business Park in Shrewsbury. Partner and head of the dispute resolution department, Brian Evans comments “I am delighted Kate is joining the department. She brings with her a wealth of experience from her time with the NFU, and as an NFU panel firm, Lanyon Bowdler consider her a real asset to the team.”
Prior to securing a training contract with the firm, Kate worked for the National Farmers Union for almost 11 years, firstly as a legal adviser and then in the Legal Assistance team providing support to members in disputes relating to their farming and growing businesses. Kate therefore brings significant agriculture knowledge to support and enhance her new role.
Outside of work, Kate has four young boys to keep her busy, and enjoys a variety of social activities, particularly outdoor pursuit.
Embarking on the first step of her legal career is new trainee solicitor, Jennifer Farmer. Graduating from the University of Liverpool, Jennifer completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester. For her first seat, she will be based in the employment and corporate and commercial departments. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer worked in HR administration for the Dodd Group.
