A Shrewsbury firm is set to celebrate its’ first anniversary after a successful first year in business. Space to Sew was launched in February 2012 to cater for people looking to improve their sewing skills.

Space to Sew celebrate first successful year in business

Domini Lucas, the Owner, said, “We are very happy with how our first year has gone. It has more than exceeded our expectations. So many small businesses struggle in their first year it is nice to be able to celebrate this milestone. We are delighted to have helped our customers improve their sewing, from our experienced clients learning more about couture dressmaking to our incredibly popular basic machine skills course for beginners. Space to Sew offers the flexibility and space to really enjoy learning to sew. We are thrilled by the support we have received and look forward to meeting many new clients in the coming years”.

Space to Sew offers three main ways of learning, a tutor-led sewing club that offers value, flexibility and the opportunity to work on your own projects, one-to-one tuition or a range of courses that focus on specific skills including dressmaking, furnishings, heirloom, creative sewing and overlocking.

Space to Sew was launched when Domini moved to Shrewsbury from London. She had attended a sewing club at The Sewing Rooms in London previously and wanted to share a similar flexible and social way to learn in the town while continuing to learn to sew herself.
