Genus Systems celebrate ten years of trading

A Shropshire software-development company recently celebrated ten years of trading; a decade in which it has achieved ten per cent year-on-year growth and witnessed some significant changes in the IT industry.

Genus Systems celebrate ten years of trading

Telford based Genus Systems was established in 2003 by a group of former IT contractors working at Windsor Life Assurance. Following initial success the consultancy, data fixing and support services were soon rolled out to the wider financial sector.

Since then Genus Systems has extended its client base to include a range of businesses across a number of different sectors and from local SMEs to multi-national companies such as Numatic International Ltd. It is a member of UKITA (United Kingdom IT Association), held Microsoft Partner Network silver competencies for the past eight years and all of its developers are Microsoft Certified. Genus Systems’ eight-person team boasts a total of 130 years’ experience working in the IT industry, a combined knowledge and skill-set which continues to meet the ever-increasing demands for more intricate and bespoke solutions to information management and delivery via the various platforms now available.

Managing director Martin Littleford explains: “The industry has evolved so quickly over the last ten years that not only do we have to keep up with and anticipate what is new but also manage clients’ higher expectation levels. Hardware now consists of smaller devices, touch-screen systems, with the assumption that they will all ‘talk’ to each other as a given. Cloud computing has also added another dimension. As a result we develop bespoke software, databases and integrate systems to fulfil a variety of needs from games software for children with disabilities to a will writing application!”

"A decade of trading is an achievement for any business, but for one in our industry it’s a significant milestone and something we are very proud of. Our work is secured through recommendation, repeat business and potential clients visiting our website and despite a few exceptions the team that established Genus Systems are all still here. This has enabled us to provide a consistent service and is a solid foundation on which to grow the company over the next ten years.”
