Severn hits 10 with new appointments at growing Shrewsbury mortgage specialist
A Shrewsbury mortgage broker has added a further two new faces to the growing team at its Shrewsbury Business Park home.

Bally Kang and Katie Maddox join Mortgage Advice Bureau - Severn Mortgage and Protect just over a month after Matt Dudley and Dan Braithwaite arrived in protection and mortgage advice roles respectively.
Bally was previously an adviser with NatWest and joins the growing team of expert mortgage advisers, while Katie is the newest member of the firm’s case management team and was formerly a branch manager with the West Brom Building Society.
Mortgage Advice Bureau - Severn Mortgage and Protect now has a team of 10, led by award-winning adviser Rob Brookes, who launched the new firm in late December 2020, after over a decade in the industry.
The firm has enjoyed a strong start to life, buoyed by the impact of the Stamp Duty holiday and even the pandemic itself, as people began considering a new home, or making improvements to their property, especially with the rise of homeworking.
Speaking about the growth of the firm, business principal Rob Brookes said:
"We set ambitious growth plans for the business but they have to be sustainable and the key is finding that balance. A huge part of that is not only attracting high calibre talent like Bally and Katie but also ensuring that we look after our growing team and help them to develop.
"The market remains incredibly buoyant, with first time buyers now having greater opportunity to get on the property ladder. Meanwhile, whilst the effect of the Stamp Duty holiday may cool things down a little in terms of the urgency of processing transactions, the demand for new homes and new mortgages remains."
Mortgage Advice Bureau - Severn Mortgage and Protect has recently been nominated in two categories at the British Mortgage Awards, due to be announced later this year, with senior case manager Aimee Dawson joining Rob Brookes in the Broker Overall and Broker Administrator categories respectively.
