Park House Hotel celebrates £250,000 refurbishment
The Crest Hotels Group is celebrating the completion of a further £250,000 refurbishment programme at its Shropshire-based hotel.

The Park House Hotel, Shifnal was originally bought by the Crest Hotels Group in 2021 and has already benefited from a £200,000 investment last year to improve the back of house areas, kitchens and information technology; with an additional £150,000 currently being spent on solar panels and a green energy strategy.
Adding a new lease of life to the interior of the historic hotel, a significant £250,000 injection of funds has ensured the lounge, bar and restaurant areas have been modernised to exacting standards which Crest Hotels boasts across its portfolio of properties.
Modern in style with an eclectic mix of furnishings, lighting and seating including booths, adds a touch of opulence to the space, yet retains its charm and character that befits a 17th Century country house, now an iconic hotel for both leisure and corporate guests.
Tones of bronze, blues, browns and orange can be seen throughout and merge seamlessly across the defined areas providing that contemporary space that suits the hotel’s personality and brand ethos. A clean, crisp, vibrant feel welcomes guests and is just the start of the second phase of planned refurbishments the hotel will benefit from.
Dan Richards, General Manager of the Park House Hotel Shifnal said: “Crest Hotels have a vision of elegance, quality and comfort and what we have achieved here really does embrace each sentiment perfectly. Guests are already commenting on the transformation and so we can’t wait to welcome even more to experience the new customer journey we are offering.
“Each touch point in the public spaces have been brought to life and we know will be welcomed by those visiting; whether they are popping in for a cocktail in our new trendy bar, a bride and groom saying I do or a corporate guest benefitting from the free WiFi and USB charging points in the lounge area.”
To mark the completion of the refurbishment, local VIP’s were invited to an exclusive event and official ribbon cutting ceremony where drinks and canapes were also serviced. Roger Cox, Mayor of Shifnal had the honour of cutting the ribbon in front of 100 guests.
Head Chef, Andre Pelaud who catered the event added: “The much-needed modernisation to the public spaces has also been well received by both our leisure and business guests utilising the open plan workspace and has put us in prime position to drive both tourism and business to the Shropshire economy. In addition, we’ve introduced a Starbucks concession for coffee and improved and increased our overall food and beverage offering with a new all-day dining menu served from 12 – 9pm in the modern lounge, as well as an extensive drinks and cocktail menu that will be open to residents and non-residents alike in our on-trend bar area.
Located just minutes from Junction 4 of the M54, in the market town of Shifnal, the hotel is an ideal base for exploring the myriad of sights in and around Shropshire, including the RAF Cosford Museum and the Historic Ironbridge Gorge
