Shrewsbury Cyber Security and Data Protection company launches Securing Shropshire
Shrewsbury-based Cyber & Data Protection Limited have launched Securing Shropshire – a vehicle for increasing the cyber security landscape in the county.
To help drive this initiative forward Mark Morris has joined the team as Business Development Manager, whilst Wayne Howells has been appointed as Business Development Director.
Company Director Ian Simons said: “We have ambitious plans to grow within our specialist sectors of Charities, Education, Legal and Hospitality and increase our customer base within Shropshire and I am confident that Wayne and Mark with their experience and skills will help us to achieve our goals.”
Mark said, “I am excited to join Cyber & Data Protection as I can see lots of growth to come and look forward to being a part of it.”
Wayne added: "The challenge of helping Cyber & Data Protection reach their goals really appealed to me and I am excited to get started”.
Mark agreed, adding: “I am looking forward to spreading the message as to why cyber security shouldn’t just be thought of after a breach or attack as is so often the case but instead with a secure by design approach.”
Securing Shropshire has two service packages which meet the cyber needs of every Shropshire organisation. In addition, Securing Shropshire has all the Cyber Information an Organisation might need in one place.
The UK Government promotes Cyber Essentials as a baseline standard for good Cyber Security health yet of over 1000 Shropshire Organisations checked only 8% had this certification.
Director Ian Simons said: “It is always very frustrating to come across organisations with holes in their cyber security and as someone who is Shropshire born and bred it would be fantastic to see Shropshire become known as the most secure county in the UK – we can dream.”
The service includes a set of comprehensive data protection / cyber security templates and documentation, e-learning for staff, assessments to ensure good practice and set discounts on more.
Beyond Shropshire the company specialises in the Charity and Educational (Private and Trusts) Sectors with additional legal and hospitality clients.
