Melinda Mooney, a dedicated Care Professional with Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury & Oswestry, has been awarded an electric bike through a Shrewsbury Town Council initiative championing sustainable transport for key workers.

Shrewsbury Care Professional receives electric bike award

Ms Mooney received her new bike in a ceremony on February 7, 2025, marking a significant step towards greener community care.

Shrewsbury Town Council's initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions and ease traffic congestion by providing eco-friendly transport options to essential workers. Care Professionals, like Ms Mooney, are vital to the community, and the scheme offers them a practical and environmentally responsible way to travel.

Ms Mooney's new electric bike will allow her to navigate Shrewsbury more quickly and efficiently, reducing travel time and bypassing traffic. This increased efficiency will enhance Radfield Home Care's ability to provide timely, high-quality care while minimising its environmental footprint.

In a further demonstration of community spirit and resourcefulness, Ms Mooney suggested that her colleagues share the bike for client visits. This proposal was enthusiastically approved by the council, maximising the bike's utility and further contributing to the team's sustainability efforts.

Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury & Oswestry is committed to providing exceptional care while embracing environmentally sound solutions. The electric bike initiative exemplifies the company's dedication to integrating sustainable practices into its daily operations, ensuring accessible and responsible care for those in need. This forward-thinking approach not only benefits the community but also contributes to a healthier environment for all.
