Local entrepreneur Rob Oliver has launched Countrywide Shropshire, creating jobs for six local staff in the Shropshire area.

New grounds maintenance company brings jobs and expertise to Shropshire

Rob brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in agriculture, transport, and grounds care. From managing a 300-acre farm to operating a fleet of biosolid delivery lorries, his career has been rooted in land and logistics.

For the past seven years, Rob has specialised in grounds maintenance, including national infrastructure contracts, before deciding to build something of his own.

Now, with the launch of Countrywide Shropshire, Rob is excited to focus his skills on supporting local organisations, from schools and housing associations to private estates and commercial premises. “It’s hugely rewarding to work in your own community and see the positive impact of your team’s efforts every day”.

The timing of the launch also carries personal significance. Rob became a grandfather in September 2025, which he says gave him a renewed sense of purpose.

“Becoming a grandfather gave me fresh perspective,” Rob shares. “I want to create a lasting legacy, not just for my family, but for my community. Launching Countrywide Shropshire is my way of doing that.”

Looking ahead, Rob has clear ambitions. “I’m driven to build a business that delivers excellent grounds maintenance services to organisations in my local area, and to create more jobs for local people as we grow. This is about investing in people, in skills, and in the places we live.”
