New personal travel agent launches business in Shrewsbury

After working in travel for 17+ years predominantly with British Airways as Cabin Crew, Lara Perkins launches their new leisure travel venture with the support of independent travel company Travel Counsellors, joining over 2,000 travel specialists across six countries, who run their own travel businesses remotely from home offices. This enables Travel Counsellors to work flexibly around their customers, including being contactable during the evenings and weekends.

Having travelled extensively, Lara Perkins is looking forward to supporting their customers in the Shrewsbury area and doing something she is passionate about, as well as creating a better work/life balance for their family.Lara Perkins, Travel Counsellor, said: “I am delighted to launch my business with Travel Counsellors and support the people of Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas with their travel requirements.

“My years in travel have given me many transferable skills for this brand new business venture, and I am so excited for this new opportunity. Launching my own travel business this year means so much to me. It allows me to build a career I love while still being present for my family, and it gives my customers the personalised service and flexibility they deserve. Having something that is truly my own motivates me to work even harder - it’s a chance to create something meaningful, to support people in making unforgettable memories, and to grow a business I can be genuinely proud of.

Lara specialises in City breaks and Family holidays but can advise on all types of leisure travel, including group bookings, family holidays, ski, cruises, and weddings.

Lara adds, “Using Travel Counsellors technology, I can search through thousands of travel options and create bespoke travel experiences based on my customers’ personal preferences. Running my business flexibly also means my customers can speak to me at a time that suits them, and I can take the time to really get to know them personally. “I think my customers will really value the personal, caring service and attention to detail I can offer as a Travel Counsellor, providing highly tailored travel and booking experiences.”

Travel Counsellors have been recognised as an industry leader with a consistent 5-star Trustpilot rating, and winning Top Homeworking Agency by industry bible Travel Trade Gazette.
