Aico commits to support 'A Better Tomorrow'

Aico has expanded its ongoing support for A Better Tomorrow (ABT), a Telford-based, peer-led charity dedicated to helping individuals rebuild their lives after addiction, homelessness, mental health challenges, or domestic abuse.

Founded in 2014, ABT provides supported accommodation and structured programmes that empower men and women to achieve stability, independence, and lasting recovery. Many of the organisation’s clients remain abstinent for extended periods, secure full or part-time employment, and eventually transition into their own homes with renewed confidence and purpose.

In 2024, Aico supported A Better Tomorrow by providing alarms for 25 of their HMOs in Telford. In 2025, the company furthered its commitment with a financial donation to help fund a new engagement role within the charity. Building on this relationship, Aico has now pledged ongoing volunteer support beginning in 2026.

At Aico, all colleagues receive dedicated volunteer hours, which they can use to support charities and causes that are close to their hearts. Starting January 2026, team members will be able to use these hours to support ABT directly by assisting with housing improvements, contributing to workshops, or helping with community outreach initiatives.

As part of this developing partnership, ABT’s CEO, Scott Morgan, and COO, Martin Cantrill, recently visited Aico’s headquarters to discuss with colleagues about the charity’s mission and future plans. They were joined by Gaz, an ABT volunteer who shared his powerful personal journey as a recovering addict, offering an inspiring insight into the life-changing impact of ABT’s work.

Aico’s Commercial and Finance Director, Matt Small, commented, “Scott and Martin took time to share ABT’s journey so far, their successes, pinch points and plans for the future. Hearing Gaz’s story was a powerful reminder that, in their darkest times, people can achieve so much with the right support and then go on to help others. Truly inspiring.

"We’re proud to support ABT, from donating alarms in 2024 to help upgrade their housing stock, to helping fund an engagement role through our 2025 donation. We look forward to increasing our support in 2026 through our colleague volunteering programme.”

ABT’s CEO, Scott Morgan, commented, “I really enjoyed meeting the team at Aico and telling them more about the A Better Tomorrow charity. It was clear that we share the same values, and I’m looking forward to developing the volunteer program and much more, with Aico playing an important role in the charity’s future growth.”
