Q Financial Services completes management buyout with team developed from within
Q Financial Services has entered an exciting new chapter under its existing leadership team, following a management buyout.

The buyout sees Ben Wootton, Jacques Moulson, David Wells and Josh Timbrell take the reins, having all progressed through the business and played a key role in its growth to date.
In a move that reflects both stability and ambition, the business is now firmly in the hands of individuals who have been part of its journey over a number of years. Rather than external investment or leadership change, Q Financial Services is doubling down on the strength of its people, a team that has helped shape the business into what it is today.
The new leadership team also paid tribute to the previous directors, Stuart Mackintosh, Ryan Wheeler, Steven Parry and Mitchell Gough, for their role in building the business, and outlined their intention to build on those strong foundations and continue its growth.
Ben Wootton joined Q Financial Services in 2018 as a mortgage and protection adviser, supporting clients across the region with buying homes and putting cover in place for their families. Over time, he has become a key part of the team as the business has grown.
Jacques Moulson brought experience from NatWest, where he worked across retail and commercial banking, before joining the firm in 2022. Since then, he has developed into a dual qualified adviser, now working across mortgages as well as pensions and investments.
David Wells was one of the first to join the business when it was formed. After a career running golf venues, he moved into financial services as a mortgage adviser and has since progressed into commercial finance, where he now supports businesses in securing funding.
Josh Timbrell adds further experience across commercial finance, residential mortgages and protection. Holding a wide range of industry qualifications, his expertise also extends into pensions and investments, allowing him to support clients with a broad, joined-up approach to their finances.
Ben Wootton, part of the existing and now, new leadership team, said: “ We are delighted to be at the helm of what is already a fantastic business. This marks an exciting new chapter for Q Financial Services, and we are looking forward to building on the strong foundations already in place while continuing to support our clients across the region. ”
Mitchell Gough, one of the outgoing Directors, added:
“ It is with great pride that we are now handing over the Q Financial ownership baton to the most talented group of people I have had the pleasure of working alongside.
It has been a wonderful journey and one I will cherish for the rest of my days. While I will remain in an advisory capacity, the reins have been passed to a highly capable team who will take Q Financial to the next level. It has been fantastic to witness and be part of their progression from trainee advisers to owner directors.
It also goes without saying that none of this would have been possible without the wider Q team, past and present, who have contributed so much to this outcome. Thank you all.
Here’s to the next chapter.
