Telford MP Shaun Davies has met with local businesses to discuss advanced manufacturing and local business growth.

Telford MP meets with local businesses

As part of the MP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local businesses, Shaun Davies MP, hosted a roundtable with local businesses, to discuss both current challenges and future opportunities.

The roundtable, hosted on Friday 17th April, brought together key stakeholders within the Telford community to discuss key topics including AI technology, Youth employment and funding opportunities for businesses.

Shaun commented “As the MP for the third-fastest growing town in the UK, I am focused on continuing to build on that growth. I want the best for our local businesses, and Telford has so much to offer.

“The discussion provided valuable points, thank you to the businesses for their insightful contributions. I look forward to continuing to work with them to make Telford a hub for growth.”

Mark Robison, Vice President for Coforge, commented “The discussion was really valuable. Thank you to Shaun for enabling local businesses to come together and engage directly with our MP.

“It was particularly useful to discuss barriers to business growth along with opportunities that we can access. Overall, a very beneficial afternoon.”

This roundtable forms part of Shaun’s wider efforts to drive business growth in Telford, particularly in the way of bettering transport links, promoting access to government grants, and advocating for local defence funding.

The meeting also provided space for the MP to launch his charity World-Cup style sweepstake, raising funds for the Lingen Davies Cancer Support’s Sunflower Appeal. Local businesses can join by donating to represent a team in the competition, with the winning team receiving a £200 voucher for a team meal at the Brewery Inn in Coalport.
