The former offices of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce at Battlefield in Shrewsbury have been sold by Halls Commercial.

The commercial agency completed the sale of 5, Henry Close, Battlefield Enterprise Park to Reach for Inclusion, who provide alternative education solutions that cater to students with special educational needs.

The company had previously been leasing office space. The end of terrace, commercial business unit has two floors and 10 car parking spaces. The accommodation includes offices, welfare and toilet facilities and has a six-person lift.

Halls Commercial sold the 4,682 square feet building, which was on the market for £400,000, on behalf of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce who have consolidated their operations in Telford.

Battlefield Enterprise Park is 1.5 miles from the town centre and located close to the A5 and M54, providing access to the national motorway network.

Siobhan Williams and Jo Garner, directors of Reach for Inclusion, said: “We are delighted with the purchase of 5, Henry Close, as the building provides an excellent facility that perfectly supports our mission.

“It will enable us to continue to expand our work in supporting young people with Education, Health and Care Plans to prepare for their futures and, through our vocational pathways, equip them with the skills and confidence needed for employment.”

Shropshire Chamber of Commerce chief executive Ruth Ross explained: “We took the decision some months ago to consolidate operations at our Telford office following a strategic review of how our members engage with us post-pandemic.

“The Shrewsbury site was originally earmarked to offer co-working and collaborative space, but the shift in working patterns and changing member needs made that model less viable.

“Our focus now is on delivering flexible, high-impact support from a centralised base that more accurately reflects how businesses operate today.”

James Evans, head of Halls Commercial, said: “We have been talking about sustained demand for office business space across Shropshire and this transaction is a clear demonstration of that momentum in action with a tenant occupier having the confidence to buy their own building.

“The fact that a purchaser has chosen to move so quickly from leasing to ownership underlines the strength of the market and the growing confidence among businesses in the region.”
