Much-loved TV star and chef Rosemary Shrager is set to return to this year’s Newport Show as its celebrity guest.

Rosemary Shrager returns to Newport Show

Rosemary last appeared at the show in 2021 - and described it as one of her favourite events aftrwards. She is now set to be the celebrity chef at the event, which returns to Chetwynd Deer Park on Saturday, July 11.

She will be joined by a host of top talent from across the region - including Stuart Collins from Whitchurch’s award-winning Docket restaurant, Morgans’ Butchers, Lee Milburn from Antony's of Wellington social media sensation Adam Purnell – the Shropshire lad – and the Argentinian BBQ flavours of Matias Casotto from 1415. For the first time this year, there will also be wine tasting with Veenow, from Waters Upton.

Show Manager Sally Western said: “It’s great to be welcoming Rosemary back – when she visited five years ago, she spent time mingling with the crowds and talking to stallholders – and having a great time!

“With a full line-up of local talent appearing alongside her, the Festival of Food arena is set to have another bumper year.”

Another new attraction for this year will be the revamped Rural Lifestyle - Bloom, Make and Bake marquee - formally Horticulture & Handicraft, which will offer attendees the chance to step into the heart of Midlands country living.

Sally added: “Visitors can explore a vibrant horticultural marquee filled with stunning floral art, prize-worthy blooms, fresh-cut flowers, thriving plants and homegrown vegetables.

“They’ll discover the creativity of the region through baking, arts and handicrafts, alongside engaging children’s classes and hands-on workshops – and there’s a chance to meet talented local makers and browse rural lifestyle and craft stands that showcase the very best of our region’s skill and tradition.

“The new area is one of more than 50 free attractions which we’ve worked into this year’s event – couple with great food and drink and fabulous entertainment, once you’re on the showground there really is something for everyone!

“From vintage tractors to live music from S4TW, Willow Station, David Busby and Daniel James, and from the family-friendly activities on the Village Green to the horse, dog and livestock shows – there’s so much to enjoy!”

Tickets for the Show are available now at Early Bird rates via newportshow.co.uk. To keep up with Show news and the latest announcements, keep an eye on the Newport Show Facebook page.
