The iconic Wrekin is set to be the backdrop for the inaugural "Wrekin Wellness Summit," a three-day event celebrating health, community, and the power of nature.

Wrekin Wellness Summit launches at Halfway House

Following the successful acquisition of the Halfway House by Yellow Ribbon, a registered charity, with support from the Community Ownership Fund, the summit aims to showcase the Wrekin's role in promoting wellness within the community.

On Wednesday 15th January the 'Wrekin Wellness Summit' will be launched, as a partnership with Telford and Wrekin Council and NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

Yellow Ribbon are promoting the 'Do It For' campaign encouraging Wrekin attendees to make a Healthy Telford pledge whereby they set personal health goals and take actionable steps towards achieving them.

Throughout Wednesday to Friday, all are welcome to drop-in to the Cafe Kiosk and Pavilion, between 11 and 3pm.

There will be agencies available, providing information focussing on health, wellness and being more active, keeping fit and well in both indoor and natural outdoor surroundings.

On Saturday 18th January at 11am, Mayor Ian Preece and Cllr Paul Davies will be unveiling the unique 'Wrekin Community Art Showpiece'. This canvassed art Showpiece has been facilitated by Caris Jackson into a collage art form, depicting connections and memories of the Wrekin contributed to by the community.

Saturday 18th January from 12pm, you are invited to join 'Leo Loco's Circus Skills' for children and young people, to have fun, learning some new tricks, spinning pates, juggling and a good day out at no cost.

Sunday 19th January brings us from 12pm-2pm Micky from Shropshire Cat Rescue, raising awareness of the Rescue Centre and encouraging getting active to also raise funds supporting/sponsoring Micky.
