Pentabus launches new Youth Theatre

Pentabus has announced the launch of its first-ever youth theatre, marking a significant milestone in its 50-year history. This new initiative promises to be a vibrant creative hub for young aspiring actors and devisers, offering weekly, term-time drama classes and opportunities for staged productions.
Elle While, Pentabus Artistic Director and BAFTA winner, expressed her profound enthusiasm for the new venture. "Youth theatre is the reason that I have a career in theatre, and I couldn’t be more passionate about the potential that high-quality youth theatre provision can have on the prospects for young people and the broader community," she commented. "I can’t wait to meet the young people and watch them grow and shine!"
The youth theatre welcomes all, regardless of prior experience, providing a supportive environment for participants to build confidence, forge new friendships, and discover their voice. The program will also feature special workshops led by a diverse range of guest artists.
Led by experienced directors, the weekly sessions will take place at Ludlow Assembly Rooms every Wednesday, commencing September 10th. The 11-14 age group will meet from 5 pm to 6.15 pm, followed by the 15-18 age group from 6.30 pm to 7.45 pm. The full term fee is £85, with bursaries available to ensure accessibility for all.
For those eager to experience the program, taster sessions are scheduled for Monday, August 4th, at Ludlow Assembly Rooms. The 11-14 age group taster will run from 10.00 am to 12:00 pm, and the 15-18 age group from 3 pm to 5 pm. Each taster session costs £5.
Prospective participants can register their interest via a quick online form. Bookings for the taster sessions on Monday, August 4th, can also be made online:

Joanna Freeman, Head of Engagement at Pentabus, shared her excitement about the new program. "We’re beyond delighted to open the doors to a space where the next generation take centre stage, stories come alive, and creativity can flourish," she said. "As Shropshire's only producing theatre company, we’re proud to champion young talent in the region and create original work that reflects the voices and visions of our community."
