Shrewsbury is set to become a hub of local craftsmanship this month as the Shropshire Artisan Showcase 2026 returns to the Darwin Shopping Centre.

Shropshire’s creative talent takes over Shrewsbury High Street

Running from Monday, 11 May to Saturday, 16 May, the week-long pop-up event offers shoppers and art enthusiasts a unique opportunity to engage with the county’s vibrant creative community in a retail setting.

Delivered by the Shropshire Growth Hub in collaboration with Buy-From Creative Agency, the showcase is now in its third year. The initiative has become a vital stepping stone for local businesses, providing a high-street platform for ten hand-picked designer-makers and artists to display their work.

This year’s selection focuses on originality and high-level craftsmanship, ranging from traditional goldsmithing and handwoven textiles to modern illustration and mixed-media art.

Visitors to the Darwin Centre will find a diverse array of work on display throughout the week. Among the featured makers is Rach Lloyd Press, who blends ceramic artistry with letterpress printmaking, and Ceramics by Nina, known for her nature-inspired hand-thrown pottery.

Those with an interest in sustainable fashion and accessories can explore driftwood and sea glass jewellery from Nature’s Treasure, or discover the contemporary silver designs of Silverlicious. The showcase also highlights textile heritage through the handwoven scarves and cushions of Helen Foot Design, alongside the needle-felted characters created by Jenny Hone of Felt It With Love.

The event is designed to be more than a standard shopping experience, encouraging a deeper connection between the public and the creators. Artists such as Liz Dickeson, Trixi Hill, Josephine.b.design, and Monica Silver Art will be present to share the stories behind their portfolios.

Beyond browsing the one-of-a-kind products, attendees can witness live demonstrations of various crafts and participate in hands-on activities, making the creative process accessible to all ages.

Located at unit SU12 within the Darwin Shopping Centre, the showcase will be open during regular trading hours from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm.

By bringing these independent businesses into a prime retail location, the Shropshire Artisan Showcase continues to champion the local economy and celebrate the distinct artistic identity of the region. Whether searching for a bespoke gift or looking for creative inspiration, visitors are encouraged to drop in throughout the week to support Shropshire’s finest independent makers.
