Shropshire families invited to explore new support provision

A local SEN parent is reaching out to families across Shropshire to raise awareness of a vital new support provision designed to fill a critical gap in local SEN care services for both adults and children.

Shropshire families invited to explore new support provision

The initiative is owned by Max Walker Williams and managed by Gillian Holden, a former local care agency owner, who understands first-hand the pressing need for dedicated family support in the region.

While the new facility is physically located just across the border in Cheshire - representing roughly a 30- 45-minute journey for many Shropshire residents - it offers a unique framework of assistance that is currently unavailable within the county boundaries.

Gillian, as a SEN parent believes the specialised service could provide immense benefits to countless parents, children and adults who are currently struggling to find adequate support closer to home. However, navigating the geographical spread of the county has proven to be a significant hurdle. The organisation's primary challenge is ensuring that word reaches the families who need it most, spanning the far corners of Shropshire as quickly as possible.

To bridge this gap and introduce themselves to the community, the team is hosting an Open Day on Wednesday, 1st July. Running from 11 am until 3 pm, the event is open to everyone and promises a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. Visitors can look forward to a variety of family-friendly activities, refreshments, and entertainment.

More importantly, the open day offers a valuable opportunity for parents, carers, and community members to meet the team face-to-face, ask questions, and discover the exact nature of the support on offer.

Anyone interested in attending can look forward to a warm welcome on 1st July. Contact Gill at theretreat@embracecare.org.uk or call 07525 327 572.
