Damage of more than £20,000 has been caused after a window was smashed in an act of vandalism in Whitchurch.

Vandals cause more than £20,000 worth of criminal damage in Whitchurch

The window at Wagstaffe’s of Whitchurch was smashed at about 4.45am on Saturday and is estimated to cost about £1,500 to repair.

However, glass covered the majority of designer clothing within the story, causing further damage amounting to about £20,000.

Police examining CCTV footage of the offence taking place are keen to speak to a white male wearing dark clothing, who was seen throwing what appears to be a bottle at the window.

He was in company with another male who was shorter in height and wearing a jumper with light and dark horizontal stripes.

Police Constable Keiron Cornell is the investigating officer and has appealed for anyone who might have witnesses the vandalism or knows the identity of those involved to contact him on 0300 333 3000.

Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
