Telford Man Killed Daughter in Loud Music Row
A Telford father murdered his daughter during an argument over her playing loud music a Leicester court has heard.
24-year-old Amrit was murdered in the conservatory of the family home on Berberis Road, Leegomery, after her father was woken up after working a night shift, a jury at Leicester Crown Court has heard.
Gurmeet Singh Ubhi, 54, strangled his daughter, on September 7 last year after he tried to use the remote control to turn the music down.
Rachel Brand QC told the court that practising Sikh Ubih had told police his daughter had attacked him and in the ensuing struggle, he suddenly found his hands around her neck.
The jury also heard that Mr Ubhi, had a problematic relationship with Amrit, his son Harmeet and his wife Satinder after a period of estrangement.
The couple broke up in 1997 when the children were young and Ubhi went on to re-marry. His second marriage broke down, when he was sent to prison after attacking his second wife with a chisel.
The court heard that Ubhi reconciled with his first wife Satinder and his family when they paid him frequent visits in prison whilst he served time for attacking his second wife.
He had moved back into the family home following his release from prison
