Shropshire residents warned not to leave valuable items in front of their homes
Police are warning residents not to leave items of value at the front of their homes in case it is mistaken for scrap metal by dealers.

The warning comes after a car component was taken from a garden in Donnington.
A front nearside car suspension strut was removed by its owner on Tuesday from a vehicle in Park Road, while she waited for further parts to arrive. The piece was left in the front garden, but since that time it has gone missing. It is believed it may have been taken by a scrap metal dealer.
Police are looking into the matter and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
A Police spokeswoman said: “It appears that scrap metal dealers have been working in the area so it is possible that the car suspension strut was mistaken for scrap metal.
“We would appeal to anyone with information to come forward.”
She added: “We would also like to take this opportunity to remind residents to be security conscious and not to leave items of value, in particular scrap metal, at the front of their property as this may suggest that it has been left out for collection.”
Information should be passed to Telford Police on 0300 333 3000.
