Police are appealing for information following the theft of a high value trailer from an isolated property at Harmer Hill, near Shrewsbury.

Trailer worth over £3,000 stolen from Harmer Hill

The twin axle Ifor Williams tipper trailer, worth £3,730, was taken between midnight and 7am yesterday.

Thieves smashed security gates to gain entry to a gravelled area of garden next to a quiet country road.

Police Constable Annie Hughes, the investigating officer, appealed for witnesses or information about the crime to be passed to her at Wem police station on 0300-333-3000.

She said the offenders damaged the seven foot high, electronically operated gate and also a security camera. “The trailer was next to a tree with a steel cord wrapped around the tree and the trailer was padlocked.”

PC Hughes said it probably needed several people to manoeuvre it through the gate to a waiting vehicle. The trailer was also loaded with 20 yellow plastic tubs full of rubbish.

“I would urge anyone who spotted any activity in the area which might be connected to this theft to please contact me at Wem police station, or call the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800-555-111,” she added.
