Arriva Trains Wales drivers are today continuting their dispute over pay and conditions with a second Sunday overtime ban.

Arriva Trains Wales services cancelled as drivers continue with pay and conditions dispute

The 24hr overtime ban follows a 48hr walkout last Sunday and Monday. Aslef, the train driver’s trade union is continuing a dispute with Arriva Trains Wales over pay. The union has accused the company of paying Welsh drivers less than their English counterparts.

Arriva Trains Wales says they offered a 12% pay increase over 2 years, but that the union disputed the figure. The deal would mean that train drivers’ basic salaries would rise to £39,117.

Arriva are offering limited bus services which are being offered on a first-come first-served basis. Customers are being advised to postpone all non-essential travel or travel via other train operators where possible.

First Great Western, CrossCountry, Virgin Trains and London Midland are all operating their planned services.

For service updates customers are advised to check www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk or call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50

For details on bus services being offered by Arriva see Arriva’s website.
