Motorcyclist critical after colliding with vehicles
A woman motorcyclist was yesterday taken to hospital in a critical condition after she was in collision with a number of vehicles near the Shropshire / Staffordshire border.
The accident happened on the A53 in between Loggerheads and Blackbrook at about 6.55pm yesterday evening.
An off duty paramedic who was passing the scene stopped shortly after the incident had happened. As he was starting treatment, he was joined by a hospital consultant who also came across the crash. An ambulance arrived shortly afterwards.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The woman was treated at the scene for multiple injuries.
“She was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being taken on blue lights to University Hospital North Staffordshire where medics were on standby for her arrival.
“She was in hospital just 36 minutes after the initial 999 call.”
