Missing Shrewsbury man visited local shop on morning he disappeared
A missing Shrewsbury man is believed to have visited a local shop on the morning he disappeared.

It has now been more than a week since Darren Flynn, age 30, left his home in Whitchurch Road on Sunday 27th March, taking none of his belongings with him.
He has not been seen or heard from by family or friends since, all of whom are extremely concerned for his welfare.
Following a sighting of a man believed to be Darren, who appeared to be distressed and crying on a bench near the river and old canal off Sundorne Road at about 10.15am the morning he went missing, the Severn Area Rescue Association carried out a search of the local waterways over the weekend. Nothing was found.
Inspector Scott Harris, from Shrewsbury Police Station, said CCTV from Robson’s Stores in Sundorne Road showed a man, believed to be Darren, in the shop at about 10.35am that same morning.
“It has now been over a week since Darren left his home, apparently in a distressed state, and there are real fears for his safety and wellbeing,” he said.
“His family is desperately worried about him and just wants to have him home safe and sound.
“He did not take his mobile phone or any of his belongings with him and he has never gone missing or not been in touch with his family or friends for anything close to this amount of time before.
“If anyone has seen Darren or anyone matching his description, please contact police on 0300 333 3000 immediately.
“There have been a number of possible sightings, including a second of Darren on the Sundorne Road side of the River Severn the morning he disappeared and one of a man potentially matching Darren’s description walking along Ditherington Road on either Wednesday or Thursday evening, although this has not been confirmed.”
Inspector Harris said it was also possible that Darren had been wearing a green beanie hat when he went missing and his family and friends have been distribution posters across Shrewsbury appealing for information.
He also made another direct appeal to Darren himself to get in touch and put his family’s minds to rest that he has not come to any harm.
“Darren, your family and friends are desperately worried about you and just want to know that you are okay,” Inspector Harris said.
“A lot of people care about you and they are doing everything they can to try and get you home safe and well.
“Please call us on 0300 333 3000 and let us know that you are alright or visit your local police station.”
