Much Wenlock Forester Charitable Trust has five new trustees as it moves towards being an independent body.

Trustees appointed to Much Wenlock charity

The new charity, which hopes to be registered by the Charity Commission soon, is making good progress with its formation with a contribution of £250,000 to the Much Wenlock community from The ExtraCare Charitable Trust.

The initial trustees welcome their new colleagues, who are Carolyn Aberley, John Davies and Arthur Hill, all from Much Wenlock, Sarah Corrie who lives in Leighton, and Gordon Wood from Church Preen.

“We are very pleased to have attracted so much interest from the Much Wenlock and surrounding community in these important roles” said Mark Laws, Chairman of the Trustees. It was quite a challenge for the selection panel to make a choice from a number of high quality applicants. In the end we have settled on five people from the local community who we are sure will work together well with the existing trustees. We now move on to the important task of determining how the charity will be run and look forward to the contribution of our new colleagues.”
