Deadline approaches to post votes in Telford & Wrekin
With local elections in Telford and Wrekin just a few days away, postal voters are being urged to post their vote today.

Almost 41,000 people in the borough have opted to vote by post with more than 45% of votes in borough, town and parish elections and the national referendum on the voting system already returned.
Returning Officer Victor Brownlees said: “Anyone who has elected to vote by post still has time to return their votes to us.
“I would urge anyone with postal ballot papers to ensure that they are filled in and posted using Royal Mail today to be sure that they reach us in time.”
Any postal voter who does not get their ballot in the post on time, can still have their say in the elections by returning their postal vote in person at any borough polling station on May 5.
Anyone with a postal vote should ensure that they are personally responsible for voting and for posting it with the Royal Mail. Under no circumstances should your voting papers be passed to anyone else to post on your behalf.
Voters who have not opted to vote by post will have received poll cards which detail the location of their polling station which will be open from 7am until 10pm on 5 May.
Regular updates from the election count on the night of May 5 will be available on the Council’s website on www.telford.gov.uk/elections and results will also be posted as they come in via the Council’s Twitter feed. Use #telfelec to find the updates.
