Two people have been arrested at an address in Telford after the South Telford Local Policing Team executed a drugs warrant.

The warrant was executed at an address in Southgate in Sutton Hill at 9.15am yesterday.

Eight cannabis plants, eight cannabis seedlings and an amount of cannabis were found at the address. The drugs have now been seized and will be sent off for forensic analysis.

A 28 year-old man and a 25 year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of producing a controlled drug. They were taken to Malinsgate Police Station for questioning. They were later released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

Police Constable Berwyn Pratt, Local Police Officer for Sutton Hill, said that police would continue to tackle the issue of drug crime and would prosecute any individual in the production, use and supply of drugs. He urged anyone with information about drug activity to contact Police or to call Crimestoppers anonymously.

He said: “We take drug crime very seriously and act on any information received from members of the public.

“If you have any information relating to drug crime then please contact us. You can either call us direct on 0300 333 3000 or if you would rather leave information anonymously you can do by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Crimestoppers provides the means for anyone to pass information about suspicious activity or crime with a guarantee of anonymity.”
